The trailer wastes little time in sucking us right into the uncomfortable premise, then weaving through the three key characters and the parts they will play, hinting to their own backstories, suggestions of inevitability & despair, and a glimpse of redemption.
Watch it, first.
Except, its not.
It is not a new series.
It is a campaign from Amnesty International that uses the tropes of modern day premium TV dramas (tropes used just right), to catch the eyeballs, predispositions and aesthetics of the average video consumer. A viewer who is likely drawn more (and more easily) to a dramatic new show, than to a stark new spot about human rights.
I think this wins on both craft and impact. Also, Olivia Colman.
